I hope you’ve all been enjoying the summertime as much as I have! As we get closer to Fall, I’m anticipating the start of my next 200 hour teacher training with Cloud Nine Yoga. It makes me smile to think back on my own yoga journey up to this point–falling in love with the physical practice, discovering the deeper dimensions of yoga during my first teacher training, and learning so much about myself throughout five years of teaching full-time.
I was recently watching a documentary called 180* South, about surfers and climbers adventuring in South America. I was struck by something the narrator said: “The best journeys answer questions that in the beginning you didn’t even think to ask.” It reminded me of the process of taking a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Most students have the idea that they want to teach or maybe they simply want to learn more about yoga, but they really have no idea what’s in store for them. Everyone’s journey is unique, but across the board, teacher training turns out to be a period of deep personal growth and discovery.
If you’ve been considering taking this next step in your practice, I encourage you to do it now. We can always make excuses about why it’s not the perfect time yet, but once you make the leap you’ll be happy you did.
My next training begins August 30th and meets every Sunday through November 29th, 2015. Give me a call if you’d like to learn more: (714)679-7660
